Macro joins mmhmm to help supercharge self-expression in OOO for web

We’re thrilled to announce the acquisition of Macro. All seven members are joining the mmhmm team to bring their product, engineering, and design expertise to our latest app, OOO for web.

Macro is a Zoom client that helps you bring your full self into Zoom meetings. They have created tools that build connection, foster inclusion, and promote authentic expression. Filters, reactions, and fun shapes take the pressure off the need to always look perfect. 

What we love about Macro CEO Ankith Harathi and Macro CTO John Keck is how they know the most important part of any video communication is you—how they’re working to smash barriers to self-expression on video platforms that try to box us in. Most of all, we love that they want us to have fun on video.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? While most other apps in this space focus on productivity, both mmhmm and Macro help people build relationship capital by humanizing video communication. That’s why we’re so excited to welcome Macro’s knowledge and understanding to the mmhmm family. 

Ankith and John are now the Product and Engineering leads for mmhmm’s OOO app for web. Our dangerously untested preview is about to get more experimental and exciting—in a good way, we promise.
